Music

We are a church that embraces our diversity, including the diversity of worship styles, ages and cultural backgrounds.   We acknowledge that our faith practice has grown out of a long history of musical expression and from influences around the globe.

Therefore, we embrace both classic hymns and new choruses, western European and global songs, Taizé and carols.  On any given Sunday, you may hear music accompanied by our historic organ, piano, guitars, strings and drum.

Opportunities to serve in music include our choir, a close-knit and welcoming community, which provides anthems September through May.  In addition, we welcome the sharing of individual musical talents for summer music offerings as well as special music during the rest of the year.

In all our music, we strive to focus on the God of all creation and all creativity, acknowledging that our sounds are not to be praised in themselves, but are but are an offering lifted up on behalf of our whole congregation for the honor and praise of God.

For more information, you may contact Kristen Eby, Director of Music, at 563-584-0880 or Jill Klinebriel, Choir Director, at  (582-4494 – Church office)
